I noticed since I have created plays that get me 4 to 5 yardz a pop, now m opponents play the flats almost looks like quarters and nickle iz the defense. They put dbs and lb's right up on the line. What can I do? Find a deep pattern or post or and in-play?

if your opponents are playing the flats, then use this play: ( it'll kill em)

-first, you need singleback big formation (with TE's and WR's on both sides)
-have everybody block except for the WR's. have them do deep outs (at least 15-17 yards and slightly slanted towards the middle before the cut)

its more of a timing pattern, but as long as the LB's dont drop deep, you should get it. you also have alot of time to drop back and throw. try to throw the ball to the WR on the wide side of the field. once you hit this play a couple times, it should loosen up the flats for your regular west coast plays.
(another good route to use with any formation is an angle route with the RB. just have the RB run a route to the outside of the RT, then cut up and across the middle of the field. if the defense is playing man, lob it up and lead him. if they are playin zone, then hit him in between a zone-pretty simple)

(agrees with Rudy)

Also, sometimes teams playing the flat will play a lot of Cover 2 . . . if you get a WR off the line with an outside release, and fade up the sideline, you can end up with two situations:

1. the WR is behind the zone occupied by the corner, but to far to the sideline to be picked up by the safety playing that half of the field; or,
2. the WR has a step on the DB that tried to jam him and doesn't get safety help in time.

The key read is the safety on that side . . . if he starts to drop back, chances are it's a cover 2 or a cover 4. If he heads towards the sidelines, he's doubled on a receiver.
