It's great for running inside or out because you can have one fullback open a hole inside and the second fullback lead outside. It puts the defense in quite a pickle. You should probably have the second fullback be a good carrier and blocker because you can run an old-fashioned trap play to the weak side to pick up yards and block, to of course, open a big hole. Counters to the weak side are great too.
In '06, just make it from the Strong I-Jumbo and move the 3rd TE to the FB2 spot. That way, you can have a PA Rollout play that works great with any mobile QB.
Edit: a gap between FB1 and the QB. 2 means FB2 _________________ Either email or PM me for a playbook list. Note: they are REAL playbooks, not Madden ones.

I just got NCAA 06 and loved this formation. It's not quite like I would like it though. It just doesn't look right for some reason. _________________ Either email or PM me for a playbook list. Note: they are REAL playbooks, not Madden ones.

Is there supposed to be a gap between the QB and lead FB? _________________ Arkaein |

Here's my favorite play for this formation. HB Lead Blast.
Assignments:
Oline-Run Block.
FB-Lead Wide Right
SB-"
HB-Back Step-Sprint Right
Pros:
1) Can either go inside or outside, with the FB leading inside and the SB(strong back) leading off tackle.
2)Consistent, doesn't get dropped for many losses.
Cons:
1) Can only go in one direction, the strong side. The SB won't be out of the way, so the QB will run into him giving the HB the ball.
2) Not a big threat to take it to the house from outside the 20 yard line. _________________ Either email or PM me for a playbook list. Note: they are REAL playbooks, not Madden ones.

Eh its not that it didnt work out, I just accidently figured out how to make this play work:
http://www.monsterden.net/maddentalk/viewtopic.php?t=371
What I was trying to do in ur formation was to have the HB take a pitch right, and cutback along the left with the blockers out in front.... I'll work on that eventually. |

Gave HB Lead Blast a try, it's not bad. I've found it gets dropped for a few more losses than I would like, but it is very good at making 5 yard gains, and has good playmaker control. I look forward to seeing some more running plays in this formation. _________________ Arkaein |

Just made 2 new plays for this formation. First, the Offback Trap. The offback is just my name for FB2.
Assignments:
Oline-Run block
FB-Lead Wide Left
OB-Back step, Sprint LT. I've tried other steps, but this one works best.
HB-Lead Far RT(to draw defenders away from the play)
Pros:
If the defense stacks the strong side, waiting for HB Lead Blast (see below), then just call this play and see the hole open up and blast through it.
Cons:
Not much lead blocking leads to a few losses. _________________ Either email or PM me for a playbook list. Note: they are REAL playbooks, not Madden ones.

I actually tried something very simaler to that, I would really have the deep back run block far left, it doesnt really help to draw away defenders, and with the speed he gets out in front to lead block, I also had the FB2 shuffle step sprint left, its a little more fluid, and I also had the RG Pull left. Give this a try
Also, your play is not really a "trap" by definition, a trap is when a guard or someone on the line pulls, purposely letting the defense through in an effort to "trap" them behind the play so they can't make a tackle. |
