Have you ever noticed that Alge Crumpler makes a better FB than he does as a TE? weird huh???

Its crazy. But albe crumpler who has a 92 overall as a TE has a 97 as a FB. Gonzales is 99er

It doesn't seem all that surprising. After all, TEs and FBs have similar body types and have to have similar blocking/receiving skills. Most FBs don't carry the ball much either anymore.

I'd still be skeptical at using Gonzalez as a primary lead blocker though. Madden (probably) computes overall scores as a weighted average of all attributes, so good receiving skills will help any position, just some more than others. A 99 overall doesn't really mean he's great at everything, just that he's outstanding enough as a recevier to make up for minor deficiencies in blocking. There are probably better choices for a lead blocker on your team, though of course Gonzalez would give defenses something else to think about out of the backfield.

TE's are simply larger, quicker fullbacks that can block and catch. So TE's should be rated well at FB.
