What do yall think of the game? I don't have it yet, but if anyone else here loves creating playbooks and using them on Madden as much as I do, this new game, Head Coach, seems like the perfect game to me...

I have it. It's kind of tedious at first during the off-season. All the playbooks you can get are pretty much the same. There are only 4 or 5 playbooks you can have on Offense and 4 on Defense. The good thing is, they are fully customizable. You can delete all the plays if you want. The bad thing is, you can only have 10 custom offensive and defensive plays at one time.

The other thing is you can't even run the plays yourself! The AI does it for you. A good thing is you can set his read progression.

As far as the actual play creator, you can't test the plays until training camp starts. There are a ton of bumpable routes. Wheels, drags, etc. There aren't any custom routes though. The running game is about the same.

Overall, the custom play feature is cool, but not what I was expecting. I would stick with Madden.

well thats a let down ... i was expecting to get the same play creation abilities or better in this game as there is in madden, to have custom routes and what not .... but i guess not ... i will probably still buy it though because it seems like an interesting game ....

It's different and interesting, that's for sure. It's kind of funny. I'm running the Wishbone with the Bears. Their personnel, as far as the backs go, work.

Before anyone else goes out and buys this game, here is a quick list of its pros and cons

CONS:
1 only 10 custom plays for offense and defense, I want at least 20 for each
2 it takes up a quarter of a ps2 memory card
3 very very slow load screens
4 managing salary of assistant coaches is stupid
5 during the season you have to decide to practice or make plays and hire new coaches
6 did i mention that the play creator sucks, anyways this is the biggest let down so ill say it again

PROS:
1 The draft is very very very awsome especially if you have a late pick
2 the ingame playbooks are very good and almost make up for the lousy playcreator
3 this game is incredibly challenging
4 any game that lets you run a 6-2 defense as your base is worth 40 dollars

Also you can import settings from HEAD COACH to use on Madden 2007 but everything else is as listed in the above quote.
