The simplist way to punt block is to call a normal punt return then audible a punt block, the comp still remains in its normal formation.
Actually, with audibles, its extremely easy to gain a big advantage over the comp in defence and offence. I play all Madden mode with Madden 2004 with Patriots offence and 3-4 Defence.
On offence I have 4 running plays and a passing play out of the I formation as audibles. Call 2 consectutive goaline runs in open field and on the 2nd play the comp will normally lineshift. Audible a run play the opposite side of the line shift for sometimes a huge gain, helped in no small part in that you have TE's blocking instead or WR's.
Another trick is to substitute a tall fast receiver for the TE in Strong I Formation. Call the play where he flys straight down the field. Use it when 40+ yards from the line. Audible to a run to the opposite side if hes matched up opposite a linesman, but sometimes hes free or only a LB matched up a gap back from the line....home run time! Even in ALL Madden mode and if hes covered by a safety, interceptions are rare . (Anyone else notice that interceptions are more frequent when the defender is running at full speed and has to leap, wheras if the pass was thrown direct to him and hes flatfooted he normally drops it?) _________________ Peter Robinson |
